Thanks for your patience in waiting for new episodes of the NEF! podcast while I have worked my way through the Second Regular Session of the 124th Maine Legislature. We adjourned last week and since then I have been positioning to relaunch the show. Be on the lookout for new episodes within the next couple of weeks.

Matt recaps Combatzone 30 that took place on November 20th. He discusses the big wins from that show from guys like Dan Keefe and Dennis Olson. Matt also introduces the new Mailbag feature and responds to your letters.

Combatzone owner David George stops by to discuss Combatzone 30. Brett Chism, who fights Dan Keefe in the co-main event that night, also calls into the show.

The WEC Featherweight Champion of the World, Mike Brown, returns to the NEF podcast to talk about his trip to UFC 100, fighting in Maine, and his chronic underdog status. Dan "The Ghost" Keefe makes his first appearance on the show to talk about his big win at WCF 7.

Matt catches up with The Fluke in his hotel room the day after his victory to hear what he had to say about his flash KO over Miller and who he thinks is going to win on September 10th when Urijah Faber defends his 145-pound belt against Maine-native Mike Brown.

Episode 10 -- Dan Lauzon

In Episode 10 Dan "The Upgrade" Lauzon joins the show to discuss his upcoming fight with Brendan Hoxie at WCF 3. Dan discusses his desire to rematch Spencer “The King” Fisher, fight Will Kerr locally, and someday be considered one of the best fighters in the world.

Episode 9 -- Ken Stone

In Episode 9 Mike "Hold ‘Em Down" Brown checks back in with the NEF podcast. Brown, fresh off of his WEC debut victory over former number one contender for the 145-pound championship of the world, Jeff Curran, talks about his Unanimous Decision win and begins waxing about what a title-shot against Urijah Faber could look like.

Matt and Rick also begin previewing the third installment of Joe Cavallaro’s World Championship Fighting (WCF) promotion set to take place on Friday, June 20th. Matt also interviews undefeated 145-pound fighter Ken Stone who is scheduled to appear on that card.

Episode 8 -- Nate Kittredge

In this episode Matt reviews "The Beginning", the first show of Roger Woo’s new Cage Fight promotion. Matt also sits down with Green Mountain Boys Fight Team co-founder Nate "The Animal" Kittredge who will defend his Reality Fighting Middleweight title on May 31st against contender Rigo Dominicci. Kittredge discusses his wrestling career, transition into MMA, mental toughness and what it takes to win. “He may get the first takedown, but by the end of the match I’ll be dragging him back into the ring,” Kittredge says. "I don’t have a fear of getting hit... If I hit you before you hit me, you’re going out."

Episode 7 -- John Franchi

In episode 7 Matt and Rick discuss Mixed Martial Arts at the movies, including the new David Mamet movie Redbelt, Never Back Down and others.

They also review the War in the Woods III show. Matt interviews Team Bombsquad fighter John Franchi who is about to make his International Fight Leadgue debut.

Episode 6 -- War in the Woods

In Episode 6 Matt and Rick preview the upcoming United States Fight League (USFL) "War in the Woods III" show scheduled to take place on Friday, May 9th at the Foxwoods Resort and Casino.

Rick also reveals details about the third installment of Joe Cavallaro's World Championship Fighting scheduled for June 20th, 2008 and Matt catches up with newcomer Jon Jones who is set to appear on that card.

Episode 5 -- Ciotoli & Campbell

In Episode 5 Matt reviews Untamed 20 which took place in Boxborough, MA on Saturday, April 12th.

Also in this episode Matt interviews Ryan Ciotoli, coach of The Bombsquad. Ryan shares the latest on the recently announced affiliation between the Bombsquad and International Fight League (IFL).

Current Reality Fighting welterweight champion Mike Campbell also stops by the show to discuss the controversial suspension he served and his future goals in the sport of mixed martial arts.

Episode 4 -- Gorman, Lamotte

In Episode 4 Matt reports on the results of Full Force Productions' "Untamed 19" which took place on Saturday, March 15th at Plymouth Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

Also in this episode, Matt interviews the Academy of Mixed Martial Arts' Paul Gorman who took on Team Aggression's Joe Cushman at "Untamed 19" and catches up with New England MMA fixture Nate "The Future" Lamotte who is scheduled to make his IFL debut on April 4th when he takes on young gun sensation Chris "The Polish Hammer" Horedecki.

Episode 3 -- Brown & Boetsch

In this episode Matt and Rick review the second installment of World Championship Fighting which took place on February 8, 2008.

Also featured in this episode is an exclusive interview with one of the original Team Elite members, Mike "Hold ‘Em Down" Brown who now trains in Florida with the world-famous American Top Team.

Matt also interviews Tim "The Barbarian" Boetsch, a 4x wrestling state champ from Maine who won his UFC debut against David Heath at UFC 81 and is scheduled to face Matt "The Hammer" Hamill at UFC Fight Night taking place on April 2nd, 2008.

Episode 2 -- WCF

In this episode Matt and Rick review Reality Fighting’s "Annihilation" card which took place on January 21st, 2008 and preview the second offering of Joe Cavallaro’s World Championship Fighting.

Matt also sits down for one of the first ever interviews with South Shore Sport Fighting athlete Josh "The Fluke" Grispi who will be making his World Extreme Cagefighting (WEC) debut against UFC-veteran Mark "The Machine" Hominick on February 13th, 2008.
